Shannon and Joe’s Pickering Barn Wedding was the last wedding we shot in 2013. So we made it count! These two chose the coldest day of the year to celebrate their big day, but at least it was dry. Pickering barn was the best place possible that we could have shot this wedding. It provided us with plenty of indoor interest which let us bounce back and forth between inside and outside for our entire shoot. We were able to use some off-camera lighting magic to get some really moody portraits inside, and use the beautiful sun to get some nice shots outside as well. The frost from the cold weather was awesome and allowed us to grab some really interesting detail shots for the day. Pickering barn is such as cool venue, with its cathedral like rafters, and rustic wood charm, I look forward to shooting here again. One thing I loved is that someone brought a SEGA Genesis and hooked it up in the guys getting ready room. Such a throwback! I think some of my favorite shots from the evening came from the first dances and toasts. That room was not easy to light and I think they turned out lovely. We really captured a lot of emotions.
One of my favorites from the day. I love the moody light and the texture from the barn. We tried to freeze the rings.15 Degrees. Lovely Shannon getting ready in the bride’s dressing room.Tash and I were both shooting during the first look. These shots were taken at the same moment. The top is Tash’s image. The bottom is mine. Cool light, cool flare.I loved this moment. Joe is a lucky guy! Liquor and SEGA go well together.Outside was crisp and bright.Inside had tons of characterShannon knows how to pose. The boys looked good. Loved the ring bearer.Apparently I said something funny. This is such a classic moment.A beautiful first dance to open the night with all of their friends watching. The best part of this shot is Mom and Dad hugging in the background. The hall is MASSIVE. They did a great job in making it look great. I love the hanging decor.Joe and Shannon’s head table. These toasts were so great. Cheers. You have no idea how hard it is to not have glasses in front of people’s faces. 😉I love the reactions of the guys. That and the odd girl. A proud papa. And mama.Hope you like these pictures from a great day.
