I can’t believe it has taken me so long to blog Erin and Aarons wedding at The Canal! This was from start to finish one of my favorite wedding days to be a part of this year. Erin and Aaron (AKA Finley) simply had the best personalities ever to work with. I really enjoyed their goofiness, and there natural nature in front of the camera. They chose to get ready at the iconic Edgewater hotel in Seattle. The Edgewater will always hold a special place in my heart as I shot one of my first weddings ever here. I love its rustic charm and waterfront location. I was so happy that Rebecca Grant of New Creations Weddings was there to coordinate the show. She just brings so much calmness to every event I have ever done with her. We were blessed with a gorgeous day with the perfect amount of direct light and cloud cover. It was a photographers dream sort of day. This wedding also had a first for me as the bride’s zipper was stuck and I was called upon to make it budge, definitely a funny moment for me that I will not forget. Reflecting back on this wedding truly makes me remember how lucky I am to be entrusted with capturing the wedding days of Seattle couples. I truly feel like I made friends with these two. After their first sight and spending some time making portraits in front of the hotel we scampered off to the Locks to do family portraits. While we were there I used some off-camera lighting magic to create some truly unique portraits of Erin and Aaron. I love creating these sort of unique images and I feel they are a good representation of my unique style.
The Ceremony was held at The Canal which is just past the Locks. It was my first time working at this venue and I think it is gorgeous. Its unique shape and and layout allow for plenty of space for the dancer and non-dancer to equally enjoy the reception. The Ceremony site looks out over Shilshole bay with boats passing below and the train drawbridge overhead. The shot of Erin being given away is probably one of my favorite ceremony images ever. The DJ for the night was Kris McCoskery, a long time friend. Wow what a night. I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Thanks again Erin and Aaron for entrusting me with you big day.
