This Saturday I got to travel to the beautiful town of Carnation, Washington to do a family portrait photography session of the Thomas family in action. I say in action because their two children Aiden and Ireland were quite active! In all seriousness though we had a great time capturing these special moments. Megan (the mom) is an online marketing consultant as well as the writer of 425mom.com a local lifestyle blog. We started our session in their 100+ year old craftsmen home and went from their. Carnation is a GREAT spot for family portraits. We had multiple unique locations within easy walking distance of their house. Here are a few of my favorite from the day.

A day in the life of a family photographer.Ireland was super excited about these pictures! Love it. Megan and Jason. This family is about ready to grow from a family of 4 to a family of 5. Megan and Jason decided not to find out what the gender is. This little gas station turned bistro was awesome and really went well with their blue outfits. Aiden the little charmer. Ireland . . . more of a free spirit! We really enjoyed working with them. The image on the right is one of my favorites. I love Ireland’s expression.

Brother and Sister moment. Good thing I am fast with my trigger finger, this sweet moment lasted for about 1/4 of a second. The progression of shots I got from this was pretty awesome. My friend Sarah Bowman assisted me on this shoot and was able to grab some really nice candid moments in between holding a reflector. The last two are hers! great shots.

We had a great time shooting this session. I think it may be one of our favorite family portrait photography sessions ever!
