“Nesting” the John Crozier Way!

As part of Crozier Photography launch 2.0 I have decided to post more personal things on my blog. Most of you don’t know but I am a total home improvement nerd. I love cruising through thrifty design blogs such as Decorchick! and Centsational girl. Lets just say I am not allowing myself to join Pintrest.com because I know that it would be like Crack to me. Anyway over the last 3 months I have had the urge to do all the “little” projects on my house that I have wanted to do for a long time. Unfortunately I ended up doing them all at once. Here is the list of my most recent round of renos.

Board and Batten

1) Painted entire entry way Edgecomb grey – Benjamin Moore

2) Designed and installed Board and Batten paneling

3) Replaced hideous old light fixture with fun new one.

4) Replaced/paint old trim white

1) Painted Railing white. One day I’ll do a real banister.

2) Another view of white trim and new pendant light.

Replaced old fan in the dining room with chandelier. Who puts a fan in a dining room. This will most likely be my office some day considering Tash and I have eaten dinner in here a total of 0 times.

This is a combination of the fan blades and motor from my old dining room fan with the light fixture from my old family room fan. I spray painted the metal oil rubbed bronze (instead of polished brass). The fan blades where also reversible. I elected to use the oak side instead of the ugly red cherry.

1) added crown molding
2) new baseboard
3) painted taupe

I replaced a bunch of our old flat birch doors with new paneled doors. I also spray painted the old knobs to get rid of the ugly polished brass.

all in all it has been a very satisfying project. Wrapped it up just in time for the baby. That’s what I call nesting. (Tash rolls her eyes).
