Ever wonder why your bargain leather purse is cracking and chipping away. The reason is that cheap manufacturers used bonded “leather” to produce their goods. Bonded leather is simply ground up leather fibers glued together by vinyl or polyurethane. Essentially it is plastic processed to look like leather. When we were choosing our album providers we made sure that all of the leather used is genuine cowhide leather. Do these albums cost more. Yes. Will they last longer, most definitely. Check out the images below to see the difference between the two types leathers.
See how thin this bonded leather is.
The thick cowhide leather provides a much more substantial cover. It smells better too.
Also, if you aren’t into leather we offer a range of Fabric, Silk, and Vegan leather options.
